deutsche frühstück

I guess a lot of things I like are out of season right now, because all of the peaches, nectarines and plums looked horrible at the grocery store. I bought a huge Rome apple instead. It feels pretty German because it is cut into thick wedges on a wooden plate that was my Dad’s; it has a groove around the edge to catch crumbs. There is a huge knife on the plate, and honey haphazardly poured onto my FagĂ© in a bowl. There is apple juice all over the table, and coffee sloshed into a thick mug. And it’s all delicious.

Yum, Deutschland

Some people might call this Vermont over Germany, but no sir, it’s Alsfeld all the way.

The blue bowl with the egg in it is my favorite part. The black coffee looks great, too.

Tax Crunch ice cream

While waiting for my breakfast sandwich @ Dunkin’ Donuts, I saw this:

Tax Crunch ice cream

Never seen it before. Sounds like it would be like Krackel in coffee. The coffee to stay up for hours figuring out your return, and the crunch to chew on from stress? Yum.
