Taisho Don: My Flickr friend Fumio is visiting from Japan, and we finally got to meet! He hadn’t had Japanese food in two weeks so I brought him to Yakitori Taisho. He taught me that “taisho” means “general” or “higher up.” He also taught me that “don” means “bowl.” The general bowl! I had never had a chicken meatball before; one of the skewers was of that. Delicious.
