This weekend was full of Richmond. My best friend from college (Meredith) visited: brunch, the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair, movies and Italian food filled up the day. I realized this morning that we have been friends for seven years. seven! I smile nonstop every time I see her.


Brett was in town with his band and I was able to take him to Lodge. I met him right after I got my Master’s; I was in coffee shops every day with my laptop, emailing emailing emailing to try to get interviews, drinking passion fruit and mango iced tea, people watching. I saw him at World Cup, then Crossroads, then Harrison St, etc. Once he was reading TS Eliot. I said hi, and now we see each other whenever he’s in town. He’s different from the other Richmond indie kids I know… he thinks of things beyond it all, a bit bigger.
I saw my friend Alex on the way home, whom I met in 2004, as I was figuring stuff out. We saw a … performance artist on the way back.
I bought my record for June on the way home (for my Twelve Records project): the most recent Beirut. beautiful.
