Close call.
Anacardo text messaged me telling me that Obama was walking. I went to CNN.com and was confronted with this:
Aw, come on, guys! You had plenty of time to prepare your servers.
Television pulled through though: thank goodness the whole thing was being projected live downstairs.
There were tears.

My mood, today.
It has been snowing in New York more frequently than I remember. Granted, this is only the 4th winter I’ve seen here. But still. I love it.

Warm feet, finally.
It’s been colder than usual here (between 5 and 18°F for a few days in a row). I had been looking for warm boots for weeks, but couldn’t find something in my size that wasn’t ugly. I finally got so fed up (and cold) that I got glorified duck boots.
A few days earlier, I got some silly-looking indoor slippers from Urban Outfitters. They have fleece inside!

I was going through the notepad items in my BlackBerry, and found one called ELAIC. Then I remembered it was for quoting pretty things from Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, since the book wasn’t mine and I couldn’t write in it (as is my wont). Here are two:

Hackers factual errors
Just reading the goofs section for Hackers in IMDB. These two are my favorite:
In the scene when Acid is showing-off her laptop, they speak of the laptop having a processor called a P6 and a PCI bus. Further examination of this scene and another scene with them looking over the damaged code, the laptop that Acid-burn has is clearly a Macintosh Powerbook 280C (sub-notebook) made by Apple Computer...

Islands opened, and put on the best show I may have ever seen from an opening band. I never got antsy or bored or hoping their set would end.
